Our Dad...Our Best Friend Past Away 3 years Today

Mom Always By His Side....Til The End

The Barn He Spent So Much Time In!

Dad...so many images come to mind whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life things have never been the same.
What happened to those lazy days when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you in your love, and in your smile.
What happened to all those times when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life you could make my gray skies blue.
Dad, some days I hear your voice and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems the sound has been erased.
Dad, who will I turn to for answers when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close when the pieces just don't fit.
Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads you would still be my choice.
Please always know I love you and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go but your memory will never be erased.
Today, Jesus, as You are listening in your home above;
Would you go and find my dad and give him all my love

Very nice Aunt Linda and I love the pictures. Very touching poem also, I miss talking to him too and all his advice.
very nice linda, i miss him too and hear him singing often, helen and i were talking about that on saturday nite when i was at her home. between this and getting ready to go to the parade and grandma not being there it is a hard day. she would be so mad because it is starting to rain!!!!!
All I can say is "WOW" Love the pictures. What is strange is that whenever I'm at the barn in Damascus "mowing the 20 acres down by the river" I find myself singing the songs that Dad loved!!
In the first picture...remember that desk behind mom & dad? I'll never forget it because I remember when I was little having a dream that someone gave me a whole box of colored pencils and I put them in that desk. The dream was so real that the next day I looked and looked in that desk for those pencils. I was so disappointed that they were'nt there! I think that was probably my first dream so didn't understand the whole concept!
becky was here and she loved this with the picture of the barn, she wanted to know if you wrote that saying or if you copied it i told her i think it was an original and she was moved to tears too as i was,i had a blating spell at the parade, i missed gram and the blog and a friend of ours daughter is leaving for bootcamp in a week. but becky came and we spent a whole 4 hours together this afternoon and i felt better because she was weepy too!!!!
