Letter Of Appreciation From Kim

I really want to express my appreciation for the outstanding love and support everyone has showed and is continuing to show. When I talked to Brian last he said that he gets mail every day that there's mail delivery now. They only get mail on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday if they are in the wire on those days. He said he really enjoys it and he's able to share with all his soldiers! He said he loves the random snacks and he said he's getting a great variety from everyone. He also said it's great because he is actually taking the boxes out of the wire with him and his soldiers and they have something to eat besides the MRE's that the Army provides. He said he has received several letters and he said it really means a lot to him to read them. I can't tell you how much it means to me as his wife to know that you are all thinking of us and especially him! I love knowing that you are all putting a smile on his face when he's going through the toughest thing he's ever had to go through. I also want everyone to know that I have the best mother in law a person could have! Thank you so much mom for the anniversary gift. She sent me a three photo frame with pics of Brian and I back when we were first together as well as two cards...one of which was a card she picked up for my husband! I was definitely bragging about you at work! And thanks so much aunt Joan for the beautiful card for our anniversary...I loved the wedding photo of Brian and I on the front! It made me want to go into the infamous attic to get our wedding video but since my skull is not closed from the first attic adventure and when Jennifer freaked out I decided against it. Once again thank you so much for everything! He mentioned he got a package from Aunt Norine and I heard from Uncle Ray this week that he's sending one and I just am completely in awe at how supportive you all are! I know I probably missed a couple of people because he was telling me a bunch of names and I didn't write them down. Oh yes, he said he got a letter from Grandma Wayman and a letter from Brenda. Thanks again! I will try to keep you updated when I can.
Love,Brian, Kim and kids
And I, Linda, want to add a little thing about the anniversary card from me. I bought a card saying "to my wife" and wrote to Kimmie (that's what Brian calls her.) Then I signed Brian's name to the card and wrote "Love You Forever." Brian always says that to her at the end of their phone conversation. I had so much fun doing that. I also want to add, I am so glad Brian picked Kim. It takes a real special person to be a military wife. Kim surely has fulfilled the bill. She is a perfect wife and mother. And may I add, Daughter-in-law. The photos below are the ones I put in a frame and sent to Kim. I also mailed them to Brian. Let's keep the cards, letters and packages going to Brian and his soldiers. It must be so nice when he is sitting in his styrker with his men to reach in the box and pull out some goodies and know that people really do care!! I know that not all the units get that special treatment. Thanks to everyone for their support to me also. You've all been so great! Thanks.

Mother's Day 2007

I had a nice Mother's Day. It would have been nicer of course if I could have spent it with my Mom and my kids! I got some nice cards and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Brian & Kim and kids. Thanks so much Brenda and family and Brian, Kim and family. It means a lot. I Love you guys. Frank took me out to eat. We had a really nice dinner. I was hoping for a call from Brian but he was unable to call. He was away from the station. Hope my Mom, sisters, nieces, daughter and Daughter's-in-law all had a nice Mother's Day.

  • I received a nice card from Brenda and one from Ashley and Cheyenne!

I think Richard fell off the wagon this year!!! Or maybe he forgot it was Mother's Day!!!

Renaissance Fair

Frank and I went to a Renaissance Fair on Saturday. We had a fun time. We also toured the castle. It is still not complete. The people do live there though. It has taken him 37 years so far. Pretty soon that guy is going to have to put in an elevator to come downstairs for breakfast! The weather has been great! Hope you all are having a great spring!

LINK TO CALLING CARDS FOR IRAQ

This is a link to purchase AT&T calling cards for the soldiers in Iraq. Kim says they can only use AT&T because that is the only tower there. This link allows you to purchase from the military PX. Normally only military people can purchase items there, but they are allowing anyone to purchase cards for the guys in Iraq. This would be a great idea for groups and organizations if they ask what the troops need. A lot of the troops have Iraq cell phones. Not like the past wars where they had no family contact for weeks. I guess it's called "Progress!" Thanks to everyone for their support. You guys have been fabulous and the guys are grateful. Thanks so much.
Just click on the title to get to the link.

Package Ideas

Below find a letter I received from Kim about what to put in a package for Brian. Thanks everyone for a great response. We still need more help though!

I really don't know what to put on a list. I'm having trouble myself! I asked him and he doesn't know....before you wrote me that is. He says it's just so awesome to get a package that he doesn't care whats in it. I would say anything will work. It will be nice if everyone used their own judgement because then he will get a good variety! I would say gun magazines, hunting magazines, computer or gaming magazines, MAD magazines or comics. Jerky, mixed nuts, or party mix and candy. That is pretty much all I can think of right now. He has about a hundred guys in his unit. I really appreciate everyone taking an interest and I'm sure Brian will too!
Love,
Kim
P.S. I think it would be very nice and rewarding for some more of Brian's cousins to get involved in the letter writing.
